As India’s events and experiential marketing sector expands at a steady pace, a growing number of parents are evaluating Event Management as a credible and stable career choice for their children. The industry, once seen as niche and informal, now includes structured roles across corporate events, MICE operations, wedding management, entertainment production, brand activations and large-format public shows.
With this shift, institutions offering formal training are gaining attention. Among them, MSEED—affiliated with the University of Mumbai—is positioning its B.A. and M.A. programs as pathways into a professionally organised industry. The courses combine planning, communication, hospitality, technology and production skills that are essential for modern event operations.

The postgraduate M.A. in Event Management is structured at a level comparable to management programs. The curriculum focuses on leadership roles within agencies and corporate event divisions, where demand for professionally trained managers continues to rise. Graduates typically enter roles in operations, production, client servicing, creative strategy and brand experience planning.
International exposure has also become an important deciding factor for families. MSEED’s global connects include international workshops, visiting faculty and insights from overseas markets, giving students access to current practices followed in global events, exhibitions and destination weddings.
Placement opportunities remain a key consideration for parents, and the organised events sector has shown consistent hiring trends. Top experiential marketing companies, wedding firms, entertainment houses, exhibition organisers and corporate communication units continue to recruit trained professionals due to increasing project volumes and higher client expectations.
To streamline entry into its programs, MSEED has introduced BMAT – Bhavan’s MSEED Aptitude Test. Scheduled for December 20 in Mumbai, Nagpur and Delhi, and December 21 in Jaipur, Indore and Kolkata, the test evaluates students on logical thinking, basic communication and scenario-based problem-solving—skills considered essential for event roles.
As the industry formalises and expands, Event Management is gradually moving into the category of recognised professional careers. For parents seeking structured education, university affiliation, international exposure and clear placement pathways, the field is becoming a more practical option than before. BMAT marks the entry point for students interested in exploring this direction.
